To be clear, there is plenty of data in the files I'm using. Here is the result of very little processing of the RGB files using PixInsight:

PI works fine for me on a Win 7 64 bit machine.

Have you tried the LRGB Combine and/or the Luminance extraction tools?
And what version of PI are you using?

I use the latest version of PI. My routine is to create the LRGB image by combining processed and then Histogram stretched master RGB and Lum images with the LRGB combine module. I am also using the Linear Fit tool to prepare the Lum image before combining it with the RGB master as described by Juan and nicely demonstrated by Harry in his video tutorial. All works properly. Your problem seems very strange and must be quite frustrating. Hope you get it worked out soon.

Do you want a video capture or a simple screenshot?

I experienced the same. Similarly, couldn't get LRGBCombination to work, so reverted to ChannelCombination with linear images to avoid the difficulties (please disregard earlier reference to RGBWorking space - deleted), applying the L* combination as described by Juan earlier.

I've made a short video, but my web space server doesn't let me put .swf files on there. (I'm definitely switching services soon.) Anybody got a way to let me post the video?

Actually, I might have it worked out. Try this:  http://www.screencast.com/users/dsnay/folders/Default/media/3c9dccaa-4c42-4610-81b5-40c105e48e76

In your video it is clear that you are doing the LRGB combination using linear images. You have to stretch the RGB and L images before applying the LRGB combination.

In your video it is clear that you are doing the LRGB combination using linear images. You have to stretch the RGB and L images before applying the LRGB combination.

As I said earlier, I've tried this with both linear and with stretched data and end up with the same black file.

Hi

As said this video is done with linear images and won't work ( as you may know )

I think you need to show that it fails with stretched images ( another video ) and if it fails there Juan will have to take note

You may be correct and there is a problem , but I think we need to rule out the easy stuff first ;D

Okay, here it is: http://www.screencast.com/users/dsnay/folders/Jing/media/99781ec7-2991-453a-ab38-1cdd29d66a28
As I said, there is a problem here. I have tried this using Harry's original LRGBCombination video tutorial as well as the one he made for me using the new linear fit tool.
For this video I went with the original method only because it was quicker and I didn't want to make a huge video.
