Process icons are special process envelopes that can exist as independent objects on the main window's work area. A process icon encapsulates a process instance together with an identifier, a graphical interface, and a set of functions to create, destroy, save, retrieve and modify it.

Once accustomed, which will happen much faster than you probably might expect, you'll find yourself using lots of process icons all the time. With process icons you really can feel PixInsight's object-oriented design: plan your processing strategies modularly, share processing ideas, save processes to disk files, reuse them in other projects, and much more.
