Ryzen 9-7950x or Threadripper 3960 for PixInsight image processing

Hi there every body I have just recently purchased a PlayerOne Zeus C Pro camera, and its absolutely killing my computer the raw images are 116mb, the other night it took 80 mins to stack just 5 images in WBPP, no calibration files what so ever, just 5 subs So I am naturally thinking about updating my cpu, any suggestions on which is better of the above 2 ? I have had a look at the benchmark list here on PixInsight and there is no diffinitive answer to my eyes !

I think this depends first on your budget and second what is the configuration of your current PC.

Check the benchmarks page for options generally 3690x scores 36-39k with the 7950x scoring as high as 47k but also has many results much lower than 36k - keep in mind there are way more people with a 7950x. Regardless of this even if they were near even in perf if I would personally go for this 7950x.
