It's not created by WBPP. It's part of the structure created when you save a workspace as a project.

Created by PI only if you choose to save a project. Which you don't have to do (I never use PI projects). But if your intent is to save a project, you can't delete ANYTHING contained in it. Either don't save projects, or delete them when you're through. You'll make a royal mess of things selectively deleting project contents!

These have nothing to do with the WBPP process.
Also, the WBPP process does not generate any temporary swap files.

... or to put it another way, when you select "save project" you are ordering PixInsight to create all these files - they are only created when you ask for them.
