Bug Fixes

  • Temporary files generated to support project documentation were not deleted upon application termination. This has been fixed in build 1605.

  • The core macOS application bundle (PixInsight.app) included an LSMinimumSystemVersion key with the value '13' in its info.plist file. This unintentional change prevented installation on macOS versions older than 13.0. We have replaced '13' with '12' for this key and have rebuilt the entire platform with -mmacosx-version-min=12, including all third-party components and libraries where this change is possible. The application should install on macOS 12 Monterey without problems now. However, bear in mind that we have not tested the current PixInsight build on macOS 12 Monterey, so the only macOS versions supported officially are 13 Ventura and 14 Sonoma.

Compatibility Improvements
  • PixInsight for Linux: Based on user feedback gathered after the release of build 1604, we have included the following libraries in the installation bin/lib directory to facilitate compatibility with several Linux distributions different from our reference Kubuntu 22.04 LTS platform:

    libtiff.so.5
    libunistring.so.2
