Gradient after BPP vs BWPP

Hello,

I find great a difference utilizing the two scripts "Batch PreProcessing"
and "Weighted Batch Preprocessing" applied on the same stock
of light frames, dark frames and flat frames.

The BPP returns an image with a gradient that is a deep dark brown,
the WBPP instead gives back an image with an intense green gradient.
(both images are only stretched)

What is the reason of the difference of the gradient background color?
It seems to me that the BPP does a better job than the WBPP; or what else?
Does anyone have the answer?

Thank You

it's probably due to different normalization methods, and/or different reference frames in BPP vs WBPP. none of these things matter as you (almost) always need to do gradient removal from your integrations, and you always have to do color calibration, either of which will remove the color casts.

Hello,

thank for your answer.
I suppose that the problem is the way you explained. Still, as the gradient of the BPP image is
closer to a correct background, I wonder if the WBPP script is bringing me to a place a bit more far
than it should, forcing to execute a more intense color correction.
