Color Mask Script
« on: 2016 January 16 07:05:51 »
Does anyone know how to add the Color Mask Script to Pixinsight?  I am having allot of difficulty combining NB into the Hubbell Pallet properly.  I have seen Photoshop tutorials  BUT I HAVE PIXINSIGHT!!! which I do not want to change.  I am in the camp and believe it to be the best camp.  Please help.

That did not work either--I added it to the repository and tried to update but I got a 404 error code.

http://pixinsight.com.ar/en/docs/2/pixinsight-add-script.html

I tried that and no go--get a 404 error.  Should I be adding to the repository and then updating, which is what I did.

The link works fine for me. It's just a standard browser page.

So--do I add it to the repository on PI and then update--or do I open it separately and not attach it to PI?

When I click the link I get a video that tells me how to copy and paste the link--but I am not a computer guy--I don't have any idea how to find PIs folder-It does not seem to be there--I can find PI and use it, but not all the files that make it up. And I do not want to become a conmputer guy--I spend all my time imaging and processing--no tiume to be a computer guy All I want to do is add the color script so I don't have to get Photoshop.

You don't need to copy the script in PI folder. You can put it anywhere. The link from pfile explains it:
To add a new script, first you have to copy and paste it in the following folder (PixInsight > src > scripts) or in any other place you have defined for that, or also can be added through PixInsight Resouces repository. In the Feature Scripts dialog box, press the Add button and select the folder where the scripts you wish to add are located. If the scripts were added through the repository, they will be located in PixInsight > src > scripts.
You don't have to be a "computer guy" for this  ;)

I found it in my computer but it wasd an empty folder with nothing to open.  I have spent literally all day trying to get this color script.  I'd hate to see what you DO have to be a computer guy for

Not sure what I can add to the previous advice.  You just need to extract the ColorMask_0.7.js file from the Zip archive, put it in a folder somewhere (I have a "PI scripts" folder) and the use "Scripts>Feature Scripts" in PixInsight to "Add" the folder.  ColorMask will appear in the list of Utility scripts.

Cheers,
Rick.
