DBE crashes with error dialog

Since upgrading to the latest PI version 1.08.04.1193 I have been having a problem with DBE crashing with the error dialog in the photo attached below on my Win 10 machine.

It seems that several integrated images I've done recently cause the same error. Unfortunately the image file size is too large to attach. Any issues with the DBE in WIN10 with this version?

Sometimes the DBE process begins and does not do anything, it doesn't bring up the background or background subtracted
image.
Please let me know if there is anything else I could try.

Hi Jim,

There is an open issue with DBE on Windows:

This issue is now fixed in version 1.8.4.1195, which we are going to release in a few days.

As a workaround while we release the new version, simply remove all FITS keywords from the image before running DBE on it. This should prevent all of these problems on Windows. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you can confirm that removing all FITS keywords (use FILE > FITSHeader, then click on Reset and F5 to apply) solves the issue, this will give me a nice confirmation that we have fixed this issue.

Unfortunately I'm not finding the FITS Header solution is working for me I don't have any FITS fields and when I either open or press F5 the FITS Header windows comes up with the memory error again.

I'm willing to accept this a beginner's error though.

When do you think the patch will be released?

In a prior thread Juan had suggested to do this to clear the FITS header:

Execute this command from the Process Console:

     j ImageWindow.activeWindow.keywords = [];


Have you tried to do this to make sure?

That should work indeed. Anyway, this problem is now fixed. The new version 1.8.4.1195 of PixInsight will be released today, so it's a matter of hours.

Hi Juan,

Bad news...., I just installed the update and the DBE bug where the resultant windows are not diplayed when the process is complete is still there!
I don't get the background model window or the new DBE window displayed. If I got to Window>Cascade Windows I get the DBE image to display and an error dialog, but no background model.
Can you confirm this behavior?

One more thing....

If I clear the FITS header from the process console with:

           j ImageWindow.activeWindow.keywords = [];

it works fine, but not without that!

Do you refer to version 1.8.4.1195 of PixInsight?

No, I cannot reproduce this problem anymore with the new version, with any of the images where this bug was repeatable in the previous version. This bug has been identified and solved completely in build 1195, so what you are reporting is very strange. Are you sure you are running version 1.8.4.1195?

Hmmmm...I applied the update but my version still says 1193 ! Aha! 

Guess I need to download the update separately. Will try and report back.
