Process icons and multiple workspaces
« on: 2015 November 14 14:58:15 »
I know how to move icons from work space to work space and I know I can open new icons in each work space, but is there a way to open either the same or a different collection of saved icons in multiple work spaces or copy icons from one work space to the other?  If I try to open a saved icon set that is open in one work space in a new work space, the icons in the first work space are deleted.  Is there a way to do this?

One option is to load all your favorites into the Process Container.  That way, each time you want to use a different form of a given tool, all you need to do is click in the Process Container and it loads your exact set up. For example, I use MorphologicalTransformation is several different ways and so I load each with a unique name in the process container and always have them at my fingertips.

I do not think there is a way to keep two different versions of the same tool open on the same workspace, but would happily be corrected.

Also, are you using Save and Load Project under the File tab?  That's a nice shortcut as well.

Best,

Jim

Jim,  Thanks!   I really need to learn how to use process containers, but I'm trying to accomplish the same thing by saving sets of icons arranged in my workflow.   I have various sets saved for calibration and processing and I've been saving them with settings specific for various images I continue to work on.  This works really well for me and keeps all my settings across sessions.

I suspect you're correct, the problem may be that you can't have open multiple occurrences of the same process.  I was hoping that wouldn't apply across work spaces.
