New user: Advice with calibrated fit files from iTelescope
« on: 2015 September 21 04:42:10 »
Hello all,

I'm a brand new user of PI - just embarked on the 45 day trial. I've checked out some of the excellent tutorials that are on the web and am trying to get my head around this amazing program.

I've taken some images with iTelescope and am using their calibrated .fit files

Could someone give me a good workflow for starting with these files?

So far I've done the following (apologies if I don't get the terms quite right!)

Use StarAlignment on the images to register them (I'm just using the default settings at the moment)
Use ImageIntegration to stack the images

I've then worked through some of Kayron Mercieca's excellent tutorials.

Is there anything else I should be doing?

Cheers,

Kevin

Without knowing the specifics of your images that sounds like the proper approach. Calibrated iTelescope files basically means you skip calibration but all other steps should be the same.
