Combining Ha to RGB
« on: 2015 May 14 13:50:11 »
I'm sure this has come up a million times but I'm not seeing the info I'm looking for.

I'm exploring ways to combine Ha with R (and GB) for an HaRGB image.  I'm trying to understand this tutorial by Vicent:
http://pixinsight.com/tutorials/narrowband/

First, Vicent hints that this process will be automated:  "Since the algorithm can be easily automated, it will be implemented as a PixInsight module as soon as possible."  Has this happened yet?

Second, it's not clear to me whether this continuum map algorithm as described is done in the linear or non-linear stage.  Could someone clarify?

I am at work so I don't remember the exact name of the script that's already in latest PI. There are two of them and I like one better than the other.

I found the PI forum thread about the original author of the script:

It's a long thread but the script I am talking about is based on the original author plus it does a little bit more.

Yes!!!!!

Use the link I provided as a guide to learn how to use the script. It's pretty easy.

Sometimes I just don't see things that are right in front of me.  I should have seen that script the first time around when I looked before asking on the forum.

That is exactly what I needed.  I believe that it is based on Vicent's method in the link above.

Yes it is based on Vicent's method. Harry also created a video tutorial based on Vincent's method and the script is based on Harry's tutorial.

I think it would be educational to watch Harry's video tutorial because it shows the inner workings of the script.

Look for "Adding Ha to RGB".
