New Cassini Noise Reduction Algorithm for PI?

I see that NASA has announced a new noise reduction technique to clean up Cassini's images of Titan that, based on the pictures I have seen, looks incredible.  NASA says they can only use the algorithm on a few critical images because it is so computationally intense, but I figure you and your team can reduce that complexity in no time 

Any timeline for when you'll be making an announcement

Found it. At a first glance, it seems to be a technique applied to radar images. It may not be applicable to normal images, due to the different reconstruction process that is needed. I'll take a deeper look.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to it right now. Nevertheless, from what I read of speckle noise in SAR images, this algorithm seems not well suited for our images. IMO, TGVDenoise should be superior.
