Pixinsight workspace question
« on: 2015 January 30 17:19:35 »
Hi,

I just started using Pixinsight and I find the workspace pretty intuitive for the most part. One question I do have is about the vertical line toward the right hand side of the screen that can be dragged close to the left side. I find no purpose for this so far. It is available on all of the workspaces. Could someone explain its use or point me to a tutorial that explains it. I did not see it described in the newbie videos from Harry's site.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom

It's meant to divide the workspace, so that you can keep minimized icons in the right hand border it creates. If you tile or maximize images, the stay within the orange line.

Hi Tom!
The big advantage of this orange line comes up when you have
many image windows open all over the Workspace and when you want to
resize all Image Windows at once.

You pull the orange line to left as far as possible and select
WINDOWS
  Cascade Windows / Fit Images

This arranges all Image Windows left of the orange line.
And resizes them all accordingly.

Thanks all. Looks like  multiple advantages to using the orange line. Also appreciate the tip, Alejandro, about the available resources.
