NGC891 Edge On galaxy
« on: 2014 December 30 16:48:48 »
Dear all,

please let me show you my second serious attempt at processing with PI. This is NGC891 taken with a TEC140 and a Trius 694 CCd camera, ridding on top of a Paramount MX mount from my home, in a quite light polluted enviroment (I live 10km away from big town barcelona in Spain). This is still work in progress as I never get very happy with the result... I'd like to know for instance how to: a) sharpen more the galaxy b) make a cleaner, noiseless background. I have maanged to kill quite of the background noise, but there's always these black spots I don't know hot to eĀ”get rid of (and I've been using ATW and MMT).

Any comment/tip will be greatle appreciated  :)

Best wishes and happy new year,

Ferran.

Good capture Ferran. Lots of nice detail in the galaxy and a very smooth background. Did you use noise reduction?

Hi Geoff,
yes I did use noise reduction. A combination of ATW and MMT, but I'm rather inexperienced at PI, so go figure :P
Cheers,
Ferran.
