LinearFit error
« on: 2014 November 03 20:50:00 »

After 1.8.3 release, LinearFit gives black image, in my case K=<0.0030.  The bug seems the same as reported in http://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=3130.0 for PI 1.7.

Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit

Hi Charles,

I can't reproduce this problem. LinearFit works fine on all platforms in our tests. Can you provide two images where the process fails for you?

Thanks Juan,

2 files sent to cfranks folder on Endor.  A1... and A2... are 2 frames of a 4 frame mosaic of the Small Magellanic Cloud.  20x 600 seconds, calibrated with BPP, then ImageRegistration, ImageIntegration and DrizzleIntegration with the edges cropped.  No other processing was done.  LinearFit with either as the Reference Image gives the erroneous result when the NewInstance is dragged to the other.
I hope I'm not wasting your time.

Charles

Hi Charles,

Thank you for uploading these files. These images don't cover the same region of the sky, so they cannot be fitted. LinearFit should be used with co-registered images. Hence a black output image is a "good" result for these images.

Thank you Juan,  that was what I had obviously forgotten.  Getting old is not much fun!
