NARROWBAND TUTORIALS
« on: 2014 August 30 10:57:59 »
Hi friends, IP4AP.com is pleased to announce the first release in our 6-part PixInsight Narrowband tutorial miniseries, as part of our PIP-3 rolling release series.
http://www.ip4ap.com/pixinsight_part3.htm
Find out what other PixInsight enthusiasts have- Warren Keller and Rogelio Bernal Andreo have produced the most comprehensive and easy to follow PI tutorials available, all under one roof!

If just getting started with PixInsight, remember that we've given all 5 of our PI Primer chapters away as free samples! YouTube too. http://www.ip4ap.com/pixinsight_part1.htm
Thank you!
Best always, Warren

Warhen, will you be revising some of your later Part 1 videos concerning Batch Preprocessing to reflect the recent upgrades?  I ask since there have been new features such as Drizzle Integration added.  I was considering the purchase of your CDs but am a bit concerned that they may now be a bit out of date.
Celestron CPC1100 - Canon 550D (T2i) and of course, Pixinsight!

I also hope that they will be updated some day. At least a online version
should be no big deal. I am willing to pay for the updated videos.
What do you think Warren and Peter?

Thank you

Hi gents,
As was the case with our earlier tutorials (PS, etc.), the writing, editing, recording and production is exhaustive and very difficult to update. I feel confident stating that 90% or better of our PixInsight Part-1 series material is still absolutely valid and lays a perfect foundation for Parts-2 and 3 which both feature version 1.8 Ripley.

As Robert intimates, though PixInsight has and will continue to advance, going to a subscription model in the future would allow us to do small updates without having to recreate a series. You'll both be happy to know however that Drizzle Integration will indeed be covered as I head toward wrapping up Part-3! Here a cut/paste of a recent email to our client base-

"After the completion of the Narrowband miniseries, we'll begin to look towards wrapping up Part-3. The following are topics that we will cover: CometAlignment, SuperBias, DrizzleIntegration, and the Repaired HSV Separation script (for MaskedStretch star issues).

While the following may not be added to PixInsight before the series wraps, we'll at least announce what Juan has told us is coming. This includes: a new StarMask module, new DBE, new DynamicAlignment, and improved TGVDenoise. Also planned are TGVRestoration (deconvolution), and lastly TGVInpaint (cosmetic touchups)."

Thanks for your interest and support gents!
Best always, Warren

Help me out here, Warhen.

Would you then suggest the subscription to your video tutorials over the DVDs?

The only reason I was considering the DVDs is for use when internet access is limited (as at a vacation home where I don't even get cellular coverage, much less cable).

Hi cdesselles, No, the content of Part-3 would be the same whether on disc or streaming. If we do go to a subscription model, then new content would be available via streams and not disc. The exception might be that if we eventually collect enough new material, we could make it available on disc as well. Hope that makes sense! We now offer 'combo deals' when you buy both streams and disc for Part-1 and Part-2, and when complete, Part-3 as well. That will save you some money. If you're overseas and not within range of one of our dealers, we can also make a download available. Thanks for your interest CDES and Robert!

The 6-Part Narrowband Miniseries of Part-3 is now complete! I believe we've encapsulated and simplified some of the most powerful techniques for both combining NB, as well as adding it to (L)RGB. Our thanks go out to Vicent Peris, Kayron, Silvercup, Ioannis, Philippe and Laurent of AIP, Mike Miller, Vili Popov, and others for their contributions! See the best ways to selectively blend Narrowband.
