IC 1295

Hi all,

Here is my latest image using PI:

http://skycenter.arizona.edu/gallery/Nebulae/IC1295

I believe this is one of the deepest broadband images of this nebula (22 hours) currently published. The ESO image misses the OIII crossover giving this one a slight color edge.  :) Whether it is the best that can be done with the data in hand is a different question- but I feel I am a good fraction of the way there. For this one I did employ a target only step (masking out the stars through conditional subtraction to create the target mask). This helped. I also got creative with the mask for de-emphasizing the stars a bit (using MT, which did help too). There are quite a few stars and this is very dim.

Enjoy!
Adam

P.S. As I release more images- perhaps I will release a data set of something that strikes a chord with the community? (maybe this is a good one...) In that way, if there is something I am missing I might learn a new trick! Please let me know if there is interest.
P.S.
