SubframeSelector
« on: 2013 December 08 11:11:28 »
Hi,
SubframeSelector 096 in 1065 cannot be extended to the width.
Also description cannot be edited from the arrow.

Both aspects works in SubframeSelector 095 in 1054

Saludos.
Alejandro.

Hi Alejandro,

Regarding dialog width, according to Juan there are technical issues that now prevent correct layout of variable width section bars. It may be we can make the default width wider to help mitigate the problem. I will investigate.

Regarding description editing from the arrow, I do not understand this comment, please say more. The expression editing dialogs do have a "fat blinking cursor" problem in 1065 Win7.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Thank for the answer!

I understand and it is a pity as we lose a good visualization of the data in the table. May be it could be organized in another way...

If you iconize de process you can edit the instance information by right click on it, (it works) and also by left click on the description, (little D in the icon) and left click in the arrow (it is the one that does not work)

Thanks.

Alejandro.

What is left clicking the arrow suppose to do?

I see same behavior on both process and script icons in 1065 Win7: Left clicking arrow closes the dialog. And the text is not editable in the dialog.

Maybe a general icon problem rather than a script problem?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike, you are right, it is not related to SubframeSelector, It does not work in any script or modules. (Linux)

What is left clicking the arrow suppose to do?

It does the same that right click on an icon >  Edit Instance Information...

Saludos. Alejandro.

Thank you for discovering this little issue. It is now fixed in the final version.

Regarding SubframeSelector, we've had to impose some temporary restrictions to the dialog window to get it working consistently on all platforms. Hopefully these restrictions will be removed soon, along with a refactoring of script dialog windows. Anyway, the functionality of this great script is not being affected by these limitations IMO.

I also see this under Mac OS X (can't resize panel in the horizontal). Otherwise, SubframeSelector seems to work but it would be nice if you could view a larger part of the tables and plots without scrolling. I hope progress can be made on this issue before the next major upgrade to PixInsight and thanks to Juan and company for looking into this problem.
