Question about jkmorse's cribsheet
« on: 2013 November 16 13:00:26 »
I have mostly done DSLR stuff in the past, but have started doing LRGB using data from remote telescopes at iTelescope.net.  So now I'm doing LRGB combination stuff that I never had to do before.

I've been working from Jim's (jkmorse's) excellent crib sheet, but I'm a bit confused.  Step 10 on page one is RGB combine, and then step 23 is LRGB combine.  But at the point I get to step 23, I have a luminance image and I have an RGB image.  Which tool should I use for combining the two?  The LRGBCombine process seems to want four separate images, and when I tried to use PixelMath, I got a weird Star Trek warp effect, even though I had aligned the RGB image to the luminance.

Do I need to separate the R, G, and B channels out of the RGB image before re-combining using LRGBCombination, or am I missing something obvious?

Thanks in advance for any direction you can provide this LRGB newbie.

See here for a full description http://www.pixinsight.com/videos/NGC1808LRGB-vperis/en.html
In brief, for LRGB combine, untick the R, G and B boxes, select your L frame in the L box and drag the process icon to the RGB image.
