DBE and ImgeContainer
« on: 2013 October 13 06:17:51 »
Hello!

I found  then DBE works with Image Container it makes background only one time and apply it to all images. If I unchecked "discard background model" in DBE module it made many backgrounds, but all was absolutely same.

Is it possible to make, let me say "true Batch DBE", then it build background from each image and apply it after?

did you or someone else ask this question in another thread? anyway i think the short answer is you would need to use ABE for this purpose rather than DBE since i think DBE can't be used in 'batch' mode. i'm happy to be wrong though...

I think dynamic processes in general cannot be used in batches.

I seem to remember using dynamic crop in batch mode

DC might be an exception because the crop is not dependent on the target image contents (i think, unless it is dependent on the dimensions of the image), but DBE does not work since it does depend on the target image contents...

Unfortunately ABE are not enough
My problem is: The are an annoying satellite on my frames. Its tracks are each frame at same place (+- 20px aprox). It is a strong task for sigmaclipping. I tried all methods with different coefficients. No result.  Only when I made an accurate DBE for each image manually before integration, I got a perfect result.
About batch: My idea was to build a DBE point  map on the preliminary sum and then make DBE for image container. This way all image has a same diminutions.

meaning you are able to reject the satellite only if the statistics of each frame are very similar? with the gradient the normalization is not being computed properly?

did you experiment with the ABE parameters and look at how many boxes are generated to make sure the images are not over- or under- sampled?

Yes. Image normalisation takes into account whole image. In cases of gradients in some parts of the images normalization gives no affect.

How to look how many points does ADB place and where?

check "draw sample boxes" and  "just try samples" and then you will see the sample points it has computed. you can tweak how many samples with box size/box separation and DSO rejection with the deviation and unbalance controls.
