question about udates without internet
« on: 2013 September 30 11:31:55 »
All

I have a cabin that does not internet capabilities. Not even cell coverage. It is my getaway.
Is there a server or dropbox location that I can manually download certain updates, and then install them on the PC.  It is not a laptop, but a PC. And I would like it if I did not have to bring it down to the house, periodically to update it.
I would only need to download things like the core, and some of the newer tools.

But I think I can download some of the scripts manually already. It would be very beneficial if there was a common location for these things.
I don't even have TGVDenoise yet.  I installed it in the beginning of August.

My PC at the house is fully updated, because it has internet connection.
But sometimes I will be at the cabin for a week or so, and I get a chance to do some imaging. My FOV is not great, but I like to play around with PI when I am at the cabin.
There is still a ton to learn.  But man do I like this.

P.S. Ignore the first message if it shows up. I thought I sent it but did not see it, so sent another.
Regards,
Scott

Try copying the "bin" folder, and replacing the contents. This should be enough, since you already have your license in there. Maybe you should start with a full reset (press down the Ctrl key when lauching the application) to avoid any problems with the previous settings.

Thank you Carlos
I will give it a go.

Is this too much to ask for?
Could someone create a video on how to, and explain what the function (s) of how a Range mask is used , and under what situations you would use it.
I have looked at Alejandro's, he uses them all the time, but I get lost on how he is creating them. I have followed a step by step layout from him, but I do not get the outputs from the individual tools after that he gets. Ex: using a clone and using ATWT let remain only layer 1,2 and 3, I should get a image of 3 layers of noise with layer 128 removed. I constantly get a completely black image.
I know I am missing something.

Scott
