Question on HT
« on: 2013 September 13 12:58:15 »
Is there a way to preview the clipped pixels when adjusting the black/white point in HT? I know how to read the number of clipped pixels, but not where they are.

thanks,
Ignacio

I don't know of an automatic way, but you might try this:
Copy Shadows value to Range Selection process Upper limit. Apply the process. Drag the result onto the original as a mask. Invert the mask.

Thanks, Mike. Yeah, that's kind of what I do, but was hoping for a shortcut, which I think would be very useful to judge how important are those pixels that we are clipping (ie, if they are on the boarders, etc.). Besides, for RGB images, RangeMask works with luminance, doesn't it? I don't know if there is an option to treat each channel independently, unless you split them, of course.

best

Hi Ignacio

There used to be an option to view the clipped pixels in RealTimePreview, but I think it was dropped (at least, I can't find the key combination to do that).

A workaround is to use the Binarize process, either with the image/preview, or RT preview.
