starhaloreducer script - any probs

Hello,

i tried to reduce my star halos from IC 1318 and i will show you my attempt
as  i tried the script above. I found that the result showed has not soft borders
around the new reduced halo . I think i have yet not unterstand what  parameters a useful 
I hope you can help me to understand the problem and the script !!!

What other methods did you apply previous to this script? It looks like you already have some ringing (both dark and bright) around your stars
