Process Functions....
« on: 2013 May 04 05:34:57 »
Hello..

I am new to PixInsight and have installed Trial Version 1.7 Just one quick question...Is the Evaluation version 1.7 is complete application with all the functions? I am unable to find Histogram Transformation as well as Screen Transfer Function. Actually I am trying to use the application for review.
Please advise...

Yes. It should be the full program. The trial is just time limited.

At the startup, check that the IntensityTransforms module has been installed. If not, check that the library is in the bin folder. Then, try to install it from the main menu, processes, manage, install.

Thank you for your reply....Yes,  I have in /home/parag/Downloads/bin/ the IntensityTransformations-pxm.so library.

I run the PixInsight application from LXTerminal of lubuntu with the following command: parag@localhost:~/Downloads/bin$ ./PixInsight.sh

Once the application is opened, then I can't see the process in the "Process Explorer" of the application.
But below the "Process" menu, I can see Intensity Transformations with only two options: DigitalDevelopment and LocalHistogramEqualization.

 Pl. advise.

Many Thanks.

Try reseting the program. Launch PI with the control key pressed down, and a window will appear asking confirmation for this.

Hi

No luck. Visible only two processes after reseting: DigitalDevelopment and LocalHistogramEqualization.

I have also received a mail regarding the new release 1.8.0 RC7 Ripley. Should I install it? But can I use the existing User Identifier and Activation code?

Pl. advise.

Thank you.

You have to copy the created licence file. The activation code works only once.
See http://www.pixinsight.com/faq/index.html  for more details.

Maybe the file containing the module was corrupted. Try RC7, and see if that solves the issue. Anyway, I encourage you to use that version, since it is the most advanced and stable release up to date.
