Hi list friends,
                    With Juan's kind permission, I'd like to give anyone interested an update on mine and Rogelio's efforts. As many of you know, PixInsight Part-1 (23 tutorials, 2.5h) is now complete. It continues to stream at www.ip4ap.com/pixinsight.htm, and is available on DVD, direct from the site, and OPT, Bintel, Ian King, Teleskop-Service, etc.

Part-2's 'rolling release' began in February and as of Thursday 5/3, the 10th chapter should be completed. You can subscribe to the work in progress www.ip4ap.com/pixinsight_part2.htm.

Thanks to many of you for your support! It is much appreciated. We aim to provide the most comprehensive, one-stop shop for information on PixInsight.

            Just a quick announcement. We have converted the PixInsight Part-1 series http://www.ip4ap.com/pixinsight_part1.htm to match Part-2's mp4/html5 format http://www.ip4ap.com/pixinsight_part2.htm. What this means is, you can now view the tutorials on Tablets, both Android and Apple, and on SmartPhones, etc. as well- Enjoy!!

That's fantastic Louis, this addition to the Camtasia Studio screen recorder makes the tutorial files very versatile and available for both Flash and nonFlash devices.

I purchased your PI tutorials yesterday and viewed them all to get a broad overview of the program.  I'll go back over the "chapters" that require more attention on an as needed basis.  Many thanks to you and your colleagues for doing a nice job (and to the authors of PixInsight, of course).

Is there a way to download these to an iPad and view them as podcasts?  My DSL and WiFi router are spotty, and the video stream is currently a start, restart process.  In addition, it'd be nice to view the videos when an Internet connection isn't available.

Hi John, Thanks! A few things here- we're always expanding our services but are but a 2-man company. Currently, the only way to view tutorials w/ no internet connection is to purchase DVDs. Part-2 as opposed to Part-1 is not complete yet, so it will be a few weeks/months yet before it's also available.

Per my exchange with Louis above, you can indeed watch PI Part-1 and 2 streams on an iPad/iPhone, and Android smartphone or tablet. These aren't downloadable however, but are streaming.

Whether you watch the flash version in a computer's browser, or the html5 version on pads/phones, let the movie buffer completely before you watch it. Not only should you not have hiccups, but so long as the browser window is left open, even if the device is put on standby in between viewing sessions, you should be able to view them repeatedly.

We do also offer downloads of disc content, particularly to those outside of N. America to avoid shipping time and costs. Thanks guys!

I think there are some programs that allow one to capture a flash stream. I have not tried any myself as my connections are pretty good and
I have the DVD anyway, but might be worth a try.

Can those of us in the US do this?  If so, what is downloaded, the dvd iso?  I could then put those episodes in iTunes myself.

Jamie, I'm sorry- I'd not seen your question from last year. Drop Peter an email via www.ip4ap.com to see where we stand w/ iTunes. If we've not moved on that, yes- I think he'd be able to accommodate an ISO download though it's not something we're offering officially stateside where a DVD is more easily shipped. Thanks!
