Quick question - first time evaluation
«
on:

Greetings,
trying to figure out how to do the following;
1) automatically reject images on star quality (out of round, FWHM, etc)
2) automatically reject images on quality (sky background, passing clouds, etc)
3) group images for integration on a date/time basis (12 hour slice for example)
4) I've found documents at
http://pixinsight.com/doc/tools/ImageIntegration/ImageIntegration.html
, but not the root path.
Answers greatly appreciated.
Cheers

the PSFEstimator script is what you want, at least for #1. it may be able to help with #2 as well as it has many metrics for accepting/rejecting subs...
edit - whoops, i mean SubFrameSelector. PSFEstimator is similar and by the same author but it focuses on a single image. it can make plots similar to ccdinspector as well.

Thank you pfile.
I did manage to get the PSFEstimator to work (binarize @ 0.5), but I never found the SubFrameSelector script (google & drop box forum link [empty]) and of course it's not part of 1.8.
Cheers

well, you can always download 1.7 and try that... SubFrameSelector should be in there.

I thought of that already, but doesn't that require making a request? I'll take a look again.
... just tried... says cannot proceed, only one trial license per email. Guess I got to try another account.

um, any chance you have the script so I can try it out? It's a decision maker for PixInsight in my case!
Cheers & thank you for the replies.

i am not sure i can redistribute it. but i'll say this, there's a good chance it will not run on 1.8 - the javascript interpreter is totally new and from reading the forum it seems that almost every complex script has needed work to get it running on 1.8...

Indeed, I read lots of these accounts. But for the PSFEstimator at least, it wasn't working until I used the version that mcgill *tuned* (binarize at 0.5), and folks thought it was a 1.8 issue. Do you have 1.8? Can you try it?
Thank you for help.
