Batch preprocessing errors
« on: 2012 December 20 04:59:22 »
Hello, I have been trying to use the Batch Preprocessing script,  (per Harry's
video) but always get the error "cannot integrate less than three frames", despite the fact that
I have "Calibrate Only" checked.  Even when I go ahead and select integration parameters, it
still tells me "cannot integrate less than three frames".  No matter what I do.  (I have ten
frames selected.)

It seems this tool is heavily weighted toward integration and registration, as opposed to
calibration.  Integration and registration are fantastic tools in PI, whereas I have never
successfully calibrated an image in PI when using the older algorithm.  Does anyone else
use the Batch Preprocessing script?  Thanks for any help.      matt

Do you have selected enough bias/dark/flat frames or did you select master frames generated with the bpp script?

Same issue.. I have never gotten that script to work with my CR2 files, tried debayering, I get some weird error at the end and it never finishes and I followed the tutorial, I gave up and am using DSS now :(

Hello Kai, you are the script author.  Thank you for your offer to help.
I select Bias and Dark master frames, and have tried selecting both individual
flat frame and a master flat options.  However the master frames were
created in CCDStack, and saved in 32 bit floating point.  I did not use
PI to create any of the masters.

I strongly suspect that creating master frames in CCDStack is the problem. I could never consistently import fits files from CCDStack into PixInsight.

Please try to generate the master frames in PI.

I obtained all the requisite master files in Pixinsight, and the Batch Preprocessing Script worked!
For some reason, it wouldn't accept my master flat (even though I had master file checked), so
I just used my individual flats.  Anyway, thanks for your help.       Matt

Great! Once you get everything working, I think you'll find BPP to be an incredibly useful and powerful script to start every processing run with. I'm so grateful for it (Kai!).
