Combining subs of differing FR and exposures
« on: 2012 October 20 08:12:15 »
Hi All:

I am faced with combining data consisting of different exposure lengths (5min and 20 min) as well as exposures at f/4.0 and f/2.8 through the same camera lens.
I plan on processing each variant separately with matching flats and darks and then combining them with the Integration Tool.

There is a problem though. In cases where I have only two variants, e.g., 5min@f/2.8 and 5min@f4.0, the Integration Tool will not work as it requires a minimum of three images.

Is there a solution to this? Or a better way of combining disparate data entirely?

probably you should use HDRComposition, if your idea is to recover blown highlights in the longer/faster exposure.

otherwise you can just calibrate all the images, register them, and stack them all together with ImageIntegration.

Integration Tool requires three images, but does not prevent you to add the same image(s) twice  ;)
