PCL
« on: 2012 February 26 04:00:06 »
Do I still need the PPMX directory (about 241MB in size) at C:\PCL for my Windows machine?  I notice PI is now installing itself in the Program Files area rather than straight into C: but not game to fiddle in case these are still essential files?

Hi Rob,

The PixInsight application installs on standard "C:\Program Files". You can install PCL on any directory, there are no special requirements. However, C:\PCL is straightforward and makes everything easier.

The PPMX binary file is only required for the StarGenerator tool. Neither PCL nor PI Core depend on it. But again, you can have this file wherever you want on your filesystem.

Thanks Juan - yes, I recall having to install additions for the Stargenerator add-on now.
