Pixinsight Install Created Keybinding On Desktop (ODD)

I've been using the Pixinsight Betas for over a year now and I update regularly.  Yesterday I grabbed the update that expires on Nov 4.  I launched Pixinsight and used it to process a new image of NGC 7023 and everything went well.  Then I shut down Pixinsight.

Later I was doing some other work and hit the '0' key.  Pixinsight launched!  Also my web browser came up with the Pixinsight website.

I rebooted and againt anytime, in any application with focus, when I hit the '0' key the same thing happened.  The '0' key was NOT passed through to my application, but was being trapped.

Of course I reviewed my virus scanner logs and ran a scan and everything was fine according to these.

So I uninstalled Pixinsight and rebooted.

Problem solved.

Any possible explanation? I'm still scratching my head.  I haven't reinstalled Pixinsight yet until I understand what happened a little better.

Hello Mike,

We have discovered this problem today. It isn't a bug in the PixInsight platform, but just a small error in the installation package. It's very easy to fix. Do the following:

- Install the PixInsight package

- Go to Start > All Programs > PixInsight Platform, and pop up the menu under this entry. There will be several options, depending on what you have installed (either the Core or the PCL package). The options range from "Launch PixInsight Core 1.0" to "Uninstall PixInsight ...". For all of these options, right-click and select Properties.

- I have no English Windows installation at hand now (just Linux boxes ), so this screenshot is in Spanish, but I'm sure you'll get it anyway:



Just remove the "0" text for "Tecla de método abreviado" and click OK (Aceptar). That's all

Sorry for the inconveniences. I'll upload updated Windows installation packages later today.

Thank you - I suspected as much as I noticed  a new installer being used.  Now I can get back to some data processing!
