Brief tutorial on adjusting RGB color balance
« on: 2011 August 27 09:38:35 »

Hi,

this is probably nothing new to even the most novice PI user but I was struck (again) by how powerful the BN and CC processes are for getting ball-park correct color balance in RGB images. I took some screen shots, added a few ranting paragraphs and the result is here:

Thanks Harry. I tried to record a video with Camstudio but that didn't work so I stuck with the screenies :)

Hi Sander:

I have published a similar mini-tutorial in one of the forums I am suscribed. It's in spanish, sorry. The only difference is that I select for withe balance the whole image and select 7 or 8 Layer, so that I get all stars (the average must be white) and the minimun possible of nebula.

Hi Silvercup,

using the entire image with appropriate layers will also work, that's true.
