hi,

I have 3 TIFF files, R G and B. I loaded all 3 and gave them useful identifiers. I started the ChannelCombination process and clicked on each V button to select the right frames. Only 2 are available. I added the blue frame again (called it blue2) and sure enough now it showed up in the list. Seems like a simple counting bug.

Unfortunately, once I selected the blue2 frame it tells me it can not work with greyscale images. Funny because the red and green frames are greyscale as well :-)

So, is that process all debugged and working? Am I using it wrong?

Thanks,

   Sander

Sorry, this should have been posted in bug report. Please move it if you agree. At least I don't think I'm allowed to move my posts, am I?

Hi Sander,

I've moved this topic and another one to the bug reports section.

This is very strange. Indeed the ChannelCombination process has been thoroughly tested and I think is bug free --but that can *never* be stated for true, of course!

Take into account that for ChannelCombination to accept channel images, all of them must be grayscale and have exactly the same dimensions. Could this be a problem with mismatched dimensions?

Sander,

Are you selecting a target image on ChannelCombination? If you do so, the interface will prevent you from selecting images that are not compatible with the target image. Perhaps this can be the cause of the error you're experiencing?

If what you want to do is to combine three individual grayscale images as channels of a RGB image, then just select them as R, G, B channels on ChannelCombination (don't select any target image), then click the Apply Global button (F6). That's all :)

That's what I did.

 - Loaded 3 different images. All of them 1280x800 (desktop backgrounds), all of them 16 bit.
 - Extracted luminance, so I got 3 grayscale images.
 - Tried to combine them but got "No compatible images found" error, or something like that.

Also tried skipping the "Extract luminance" step, maybe ChannelCombination would extract the red channel from the first image. Same outcome.

Hi Juan and David,

all three images are of the same 'type' (greyscale TIFF) and size. I can post them somewhere if you like. As I reported, when I added the last picture again (PCL now had it opened twice) I could choose it for one of the channels. Obviously this then has nothing to do with the image type but how it is loaded, right? I will reproduce the image and take a screenshot. I did not select a target image. When I only selected two color channels and clicked 'apply' a new image was created so that worked fine.  It's just that I can't get the third channel loaded.

Thanks,
