Hello and help
« on: 2010 September 15 10:33:50 »
Hi,

I had my trial period of PixInsight in April this year and I've finally purchased it. But there lies a problem. I purchased a commercial licence yesterday evening 14th Sept, 2010. I received confirmation from Pay Pal. After 1 hour as I hadn't hard anything from Pleiades Astrophoto, I emailed support, to ask where my licences was and how I could down load the software. By 11.30 am this morning I hadn't heard anything from support so I emailed again. It's 6.30 p.m. now and I still haven't received any help in obtaining the licence or PixInsight.

Is this normal, the trial licence only took a few hours to receive. However it appears I've managed to register on this forum.

Thanks in anticipation
Regards
Dave

Hi Dave,

I don't know how the license mechanism works but it appears there is some human intervention necessary. This human (Juan) lives in Spain so the time difference may be a factor or perhaps he has a cold and hasn't checked his email. It's also possible the email with key went out but it's stuck in your spam filter, if you have one. In any case, I'm sure the situation will be corrected real soon.

Glad you bought a license, welcome to PixInsight! You'll see we're a bit of a clan here. In a good way though :)
Best,

Sander,

Thank you for your reply. I'm in the UK so there's not much time difference really. I've checked my spam filter numerous times.

Perhaps Juan wi'' see this message and respond.

Hi Dave,

Welcome to PixInsight!

We have sent you several copies of your instructions email with license activation codes, download and installation instructions, etc., using various email accounts, including an emergency Gmail account that we have for these purposes. You obviously haven't received them. We were about to print and send it by ordinary mail :)

So please check your spam box and, if your instructions email isn't there (and in such case please ask your email provider why are they filtering out legitimate emails coming from our company), provide us with a different email address (of a different provider) because otherwise we'll be unable to contact you.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but please understand that we aren't causing it.

Juan,

Thank you, I've emailed you with a google mail account which is the same one I used when I applied for a trial in April. Hopefully, it should get through.
I've checked my spam filter again and there's nothing there.

Regards,

Dave

Hi everybody,

Things have been resolved and I'm up and running with PixInsight. Apparently it's a problem with BT email addresses, very annoying. So I switched to a google mail account and I had a reply from Juan in about 30 seconds, the speed of light.

Regards

Dave  :D
