How to extract CIE a
« on: 2010 July 10 10:13:16 »
Last night i exposed the SH2-15 for 3 hours with my QHY8 One shot color camera on the Hyperstar-C14. On the stacked image
a lot of H-Alpha is visible, but very very flat without good details. (No filter used).

But, when i view the "Cie a" component only, there are very nice detailed and sharp HA-filaments visible.

So, i thougt to use the "Cie a" channel as a mask to improve the HA-details of the RGB image.
BUT, how to extract the "CIE a" channel?
Can anybody give me a hint. Thanks a lot in advance.

Gerald

Will let you know the outcome of my "Cie a" test band usage for H-
Alpha improvement.
