Histogram Transform in PixInsight SE 1.0.16.270 RC4
« on: 2007 April 20 03:55:04 »
Hi all,
in the latest release of pixinsight SE (1.0.16.270), opening a RGB 32 bit file the histogram transform exihibit a strange behaviour: histogram visualization is wrong.
Opening an rgb 16 bit histogram work as before. Opening THE SAME RGB 32 bit file in pixinsight LE histogram works nice.

Here a link  to 2 snapshot of Histogram in Pix SE and in Pix LE managing the same RGB 32 bit file for comparison:

Many thanks for your attention and Best Regards

Hi Enzo,

This is strange. Build 270 has a new histogram calculation routine that is further optimized for multicore processors. However, we have tested it and have encountered no problem so far.

I am unable to reproduce this behavior, which is obviously a regression caused by the new routine. Could you please upload the original image so I can test the routine with it?

Thank you

Hi Juan,
in this page I have linked two fit rgb files. One in 16 bit format the other 32 bit.  In the page linked below you can also see the snapshots showing the problem: with 32 bit files Histogram Transform in PixInsight SE exihibit the strange behaviour, not with 16 bits files :

Hi Enzo,

I have identified and fixed this bug. Please download and install version 1.0.16.271 RC4. It fixes the histogram bug plus a problem with the PixelMath process. It also includes the final version of the CloneStamp tool.

Thank you very much for your help and support. You and the rest of friends are making it possible for us to write the excellent platform that we dream.

Best,
