Dymamic Cursor

From my question to follow it will be obviouse i am very new to this app.

I keep losing the cursor, or it gets stuck in some mode and i can't get it back to working with the tools. When this happens, the "dynamic operation mode" cursor icon on the tool bar is grey and therefore does not change anything.

I was using DBE and clicked on the zoom icon on the tool bar, then i could not get the cursor back to add/edit DBE points.

Now i seem to be stuck in "read out mode" and cannot add previews or reall do anything with the app?

I am sure its easy but i can't figure it out.

I did this a few times  

If you look on the toolbar where you clicked the zoom , you will see a dbe icon you need to select this to get back to using the tool
