Lost Windows
« on: 2019 October 09 09:37:05 »
Hi,
If I change computers and open a project saved on another computer, if I start STF it does not appear on screen....  This is a pain since I work on a large 4k screen at home but on my laptop, which is a bit smaller, the STF vanishes.  If I start a new project, the STF is in the right place, but if I bring in old icons or an old project, it is lost.  Any work around?

Hi JY,

Open the project on the computer with the 4k screen, drag the STF window to the upper left and save the project. Then import the project again on the laptop.

By the way, you didn’t see any scroll bars on the laptop? They should appear as soon as you open STF.

Thanks, unfortunately about 5000 miles away from the 4k screen right now.  Will make that my plan in the future.

I see the scroll bars but the STF windows is nowhere to be seen.

I opened another project and loaded the linear images into it to get stretched and reloaded back into the project....

Seems like there should be some way to reset the screen.  3840x2160 is the laptop resolution.  I bet the 4k monitor is 4096x2160.

This has bothered me for years....

I just had a look and the project file is a plain text file which contains the xpos and ypos for the different project icons. Perhaps you can locate the ScreenTransferFunction icon in it and modify the xpos and ypos by hand?

EDIT: sorry this won't work as it only affects the position of the icon and not of the window.

Yeah, looked at that.  I am stuck on travel for a week, so maybe time to start a new icon set.

Thanks for the effort.
