STF & HT Are Not Applied in Final Image

I’ve been around this circle several times:

I have my image, unstretch
Use STF to stretch how I like it.
Open HistoTransfer function; clear it
Drag STF onto HT
Check Track View
Open real time viewer for final touchup
Apply
Image looks great
Save as tiff or jpeg, go look at that export and it’s not what I applied. Always lighter.  Tried a clone and re-did-it. No difference.

What’s wring with what I’m doing?

is the STF still turned on on the image when you think it looks right? if you turn off the STF before saving, does the image look like what the JPG looks like?

Yes that screen is still open after I ‘applied’ from the HT.
If I turn off stretch again, it does loose the settings

no i dont mean to ask if the STF process is still open, what i'm asking is if the image you've applied the HT to has a green stripe along the tab showing it's name over on the left.

if there is a green stripe, then the STF is still applied, and what you're seeing on the screen is the combination of the HT you applied and the STF. turning off the STF will show you what the data actually looks like.

If its lighter then the HT is being applied so it sounds like you are not being applying ICC profiles to the exported image so they will never be correct.

ICC is checked.

Yes it had a fine green line under image title on image tab.

so I..... Turn off STF, tweak again w HT, apply again HT setting, and it worked.
