RAW Modules Does Not Product DSLR Color Images
« on: 2019 July 05 11:24:59 »
A few months ago I had a trial version; believe that was around March/April.  PI did a great job on my M51 (DSLR - RAW images) project so I bought PI which requires a fresh install; that was mid-May 2019.

Then my first project on that new build (M101) had no color. Trying a color process and it would report that only works on color images.  I wondered if I had accidentally change a setting on my Cannon to monochrome.  I saw a discussion about adding https://pixinsight.com/update_devel/ and getting updates, so I did that thinking RAW (or DSLR_RAW) needed an update.

Now the whole system is updated. In Raw Mod I have ‘Pure Raw’ set (allowing its’ default checked items) and starting a new DSLR (RAW images) project with what I know are color images the system still produces gray images.  I have also tried changing the settings in Pure Raw to ‘Create raw RGB image’ and after restarting the app that made no difference. Nothing seems to effect the reponse; color modules complain the image isn’t color. If I do a Autobackground extract the ..ABE_background image stretched is all gray. I have also tried using the ‘Demosaiced RGB’ selection in RAW mod which clears all the Pure Ram mod selections and this too doesn’t work.

I should add that if I go open an the previous project created on the trial PI, opening its’ orginal stacked image from Nebulosity, that image has color. If I use RawTherapee to open a sub it is color too

So I wonder what changed from my trial version installed around April and the new purchased system installed mid-May?

Thanks,
B
