blinking cr2 files
« on: 2019 February 09 15:13:53 »
I've been using pixinsight for a little while now with my ASI 1600. I decided to reprocess some of my older images during this awful weather and I cannot get started with blink on my CR2 files, so have to use a different program to process them. Am I missing something?

Hi Greg,

I have a Canon 60D and use CR2 raw files and I use the Blink process to review them without any problems. If you go to your Format Explorer window (start with the View pull-down at the top) VIEW/EXPLORER WINDOWS/FORMAT EXPLORER and scroll down to RAW option and single click it. You will see all the format types PI processes. If you double click the RAW option you will get the RAW Format Preferences window. Select the PURE RAW button on the bottom left to set up the format to correctly process the CR2 files.

That's great, thank you. I suppose I need to go back and on check it when I'm done or does this just add the functionality?

In certain cases many tutorials involve raw images, as well as project files so you can easily use to reproduce the described procedures with the help of PixInsight.
