How to align lunar eclipse images in PI?
« on: 2019 February 08 20:01:21 »
I have taken a few hundred DSLR images of the total lunar eclipse, including the partial phases prior and afterwards through my 5in f8 refractor, so the moons disk occupies a large part of the frame.

I would like to precisely align several hundred of these images to make an animation of the event. I am not familiar with a means to do something like this in PI. At least the alignment part.

Can it be done?  How would I attempt it?

you might try the script called FFTRegistration... not 100% sure it would work but it is worth a try.
