Can't StarAlign NB subframes

I have two sets of debayered OSC subs of M42 -- one in full color and the second with an Ha filter. Shen I try to register these subs, StarAlignment fails with an "Unable to find an initial set of putative star pair matches" error. I have attached the Process Console output for a run containing just one full-color sub, and one Ha sub.

The problem occurs with the full-color sub as reference and with the Ha sub as reference. Per Keller's book, I have lowered the Log setting to include dimmer stars.

The problem occurs when StarAlignment attempts to register the Ha subs -- the full-color subs end up in the output directory.

Inspection of the Ha subs reveals at least 15 stars, while the full-color subs have many stars.

What must I do to get the Ha subs aligned?

you will need to post links to a few example images. this kind of thing can only be answered thru experimentation...

I zipped one full-color sub and one Ha sub into this file: http://astronomy.mdodd.com/M42_(Mike_Dodd).zip (232 MB). StarAlign fails when processing just these two files, regardless whether the full-color sub or the Ha sub is the reference.

Both files are calibrated and debayered.

Thanks again for any pointers on how to get StarAlign to work with my subs.

First I reset StarAlign to make sure any old settings were gone. Then using the 'Clear' as the reference image I only changed the Noise Reduction setting from 0 to 1. The Ha image aligned without issue.

I added a new StarAlign instance to my PI workspace, then save the project as a "narrowband" variation.
