Uninstall Mac os

Hi, I don't know if this is an issue on MAC but I have noted that uninstalling on windows has some concern-.  I am having difficulty with installing 1.8.6 which is demanding I uninstall 1,8,5. 
My problem is how do I uninstall 1.8.5. The usual dodge of moving the application to trash refuses to work.
Any help would be appreciated.

delete Pixinsight Folder from the Applications Folder.
goto
Finder
goto
Application Folder
find your  Pixinsight folder
Delete
