Flat problem with latest PI image Calibration
« on: 2019 January 02 18:59:55 »
Using same data and procedure {Light Vortex Astronomy}, used in the previous versions of PI, It is obvious that the flats are not working correctly. If anything, it looks like a negative instead of positive calibrate exacerbating the vignetting.
Has there been a change in the calibration procedure for CR2 files? Or did the download not work correctly. I loaded the new PI Jan 1st, 2019.

Perhaps it would be best to roll back to the previous version.... But with all the changing passwords and stuff I am confused in how to access and do this?

Thanks for all the monumental work!

problem is that your old masters were created from CR2s which were converted to images by DCRAW, the old DSLR_RAW file handler.

you'll need to remake your calibration masters with the new version of PI, which uses libRAW, then everything will be OK

Ah, ok Thanks for that piece of info. However for today  :-\ since I only saved the masters and deleted the CR2's in the interest of memory management, will not be able to recreate them today. Have reverted back to .85, but.  :surprised:

Cannot find Format Explorer to set input to RAW so CR2's are invisible.  ??? Where is this creature lurking ???

I'll convert to .86 when can create new masters, currently away from the observatory with a storm moving in....

Thanks John, I found it :) BUT >:D The Edit Preferences where DLSR Raw has in the past been set is inactive :-[ Weather is moving in. WR is calling for 3-4' snow in these parts :surprised: So no CR2 visible to PI .85. So it goes.....
