OK ...I am back...seem to have a new version now installed and actually works now...
Good start.
It is 01.05.06.0525...

Except I went to "about"...got that info screen, and now cannot turn it off...
Bloody hell...
computers are great...

Point is...I will see if it seems to operate normally...get back to you...
Great software, but seems "buggy"...or is it just me...
I STILL want a good star mask tool...
I will get back to you ??? who? when I feel I have a new/functional system
Right now I am going to reboot...because I cannot turn off that darn screen with the pretty blue cube/info on it off....

Hi Dave,

When you click <Help> then <About>, the 'screen with the pretty blue cube appears'

If you click anywhere in that screen, it should disappear.

If it doesn't, then something is wrong - might I suggest a fresh download, and a re-install of that download - just in case.

I have just tested my01.05.06.0525 download, which also tells me that it is version 'eng (x86_64)' as well - and the About screen behaves normally.

Can you let us know if you are still having problems.

Cheers,

Hi Dave

Just to let you know my computer did the same thing when I tried it, and could not get the computer to respond
until I tried the good old ESC key and it went away.
Now I can't get it to do it again and works just fine, A little bug but I won't loose sleep over it.

Small bugs are the price we pay for getting a constantly improving software package and when reported juan sorts it ASAP and personally
think its well worth this small inconvenience.

Other packages can be worse ie maxim who took a year to sort out a problem with their sx AO driver ( I am not bitter  :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :yell: :yell: :yell:)

I will get round to a video on masks in a couple of weeks as I have got to tile the conservatory and then have a weeks holiday in
sunny england

OK...well I see Pixinsight has come up with a new "star generation" tool !!! Boy ask and you shall receive !!

Unfortunately it sounds like only my 26 year old nephew can understand it !!
I am happily awaiting further developments !! (ie for Windows, average citizens like me...)

Meanwhile I managed to bodge together a DSLR result of M27 that won a modest place in a Yahoo "Digital Astrophotography" entry for 7/09 !!
Thank you Pixinsight!!

Thanks Sander :) !
Yes,I am slowly improving...but not anywhere yet,really !!
I am LOVING this software...
(even though when doing intensive transformations all my other apps hang up...!!)

Meanwhile I still do not have a volunteer to show me how they do star masking...
Here is my current problem;
I have a nice image of M57....but obviously the color is all wrong;

I need a mask !!
(And have only about 5 days before chucking it into the August DSLR contest !!) (Yahoo) :'(
