pixelmath tutorials
« on: 2017 November 14 12:14:25 »
I have been attempting to download Gerald's video tutorial(s) dealing with Pixelmath. I only get a Dropbox message "file does not exist". This tutorial is very highly spoken of and I'd love to have it. Is there a different source or another source of Pixelmath tutorials? I kind of need captioning, if it's relevant.
Thank you

James

Did you try the following address:
http://www.werbeagentur.org/oldwexi/PixInsight/PixInsight.html
I could open all Pixelmath-tutorials.

Hi James!
Which of the videos did not show up on dropbox?

Sorry for that trouble, dropbox has changed their filesystem and maybe i have overseen to
get the video you requested available again.

Thanks for your help

Raymond, that link worked for me.\I wasn't able to get anything but the "file not found" error at any URL with "dropbox" in the name. Some varied examples dead links, all from references I found in the forum, were:

http://www.pixinsight.com/tutorials/PixelMath/en.html
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/57910417/Video04_PixelMath_Part_One_english.wmv
http://www.steuerhilfe.at/GruberAstro/V/Video04_PixelMath_Basic_english_player.html

There are a lot of references to Gerald's video tutorials  :P
I was looking specifically for part 1. Raymond's link worked so its pretty much taken care of. Since I'm deaf, I do wish I could find something with captions That's not always possible. Someday -

Thanks for reading this, people :-)

FWIW I actually managed to get an expected result from doing a PixelMath operation!  ;D  I was confused by the special PixInsight "style". I've been trying to put it in words and can't, but I've read of it. "Is this part of the process or is it an example", for instance. Or, the way that ctrl-A does not do anything to anything, just looks like it does. Remember I had no experience with PixelMath until just after the new version in 1.8 came out.

Anyways I'm very happy now and can continue from here. This forum and its people are great :-)
