DSLR Processing Wide-Field Image M45 Question
«
on:

I have seen wide field images of M45 where there’s foreground dust throughout the FOV. How do I maintain this dust or haze and reduce RGB/K and Chrominance noise at the same time? I am using a Ha Modified Canon 6D and a 200 or 300mm lens.
Thanks

If the faint dust is too noisy then you need more integration time. You can get part of the way there with careful noise reduction but you can only push that so far without ugly results.
Cheers,
Rick.

First step is to collect this data in your frames, exposure time should be optimum, wide dynamic range camera sensor with hight QE. Total time exposure should be the higher possible.
Take a look at this thread

Exposure time is over 54 hours with a top equipment at a dark site.
These are the first conditions to hope reveal in the final image low level details.
