#1 Book at Springer Nature for 2016!
« on: 2017 October 11 15:54:02 »
Exciting News peeps, From my NYC contact at Springer "I just read a report saying that your book was the number one best seller for 2016 in our group (physics, engineering, chemistry, Earth science, etc.). Congratulations! I would prefer to do a new edition for 2019 rather than an updated edition." Sooo, because our fearless leaders CAN'T HELP themselves from making PI better, they force me to go back to work on Inside PixInsight 2nd Edition! Thanks for all of your interest and support. Make it stop! ;D
Best always, Warren

Congratulations Warren.
The book was great. I'd like to make a few suggestions for the next issue:
  • Try to get Springer to do a better repro of the photos in the print edition
  • Perhaps put in a few more technical sections for the more advanced reader. Clearly marked as ignorable for the beginning user of PixInsight
  • In the index, use bold face for the pages that explain usage of a particular tool. There are many cases where an index entry leads to a page that contains only a passing reference to the tool.

Ha ha Juan, that is something I learned a long time ago! :>) Geoff, unfortunately, early on the print quality varied wildly, with some marginal results coming from Europe. Prints have been consistent and quite decent after the first few months. Thanks again guys, always striving to be better...
Best always, Warren
