Warning error while running Image Integration
« on: 2017 September 02 21:49:46 »
Hi - this is my first post and I'm fairly new to Pixinsight but have now started to get consistent results from the software.  I've just discovered the Local Normalisation process and have used it several times with excellent results.  However, I've just seen something that I didn't notice before.  I'm stacking 33 frames after pre-processing with Image Calibration, Cosmetic Correction and Subframe Selection.  I've then done Star Alignment and generated drizzle data, then Local Normalisation and generated those files.  Then when I run Image Integration I get  a warning

  -  Warning: Inconsistent filter name value(s) - metadata not generated

the process continues and updates the drizzle data.  I've tried running the process without the Normalisation files and it completes without the warning error.  I have Rejection algorithm set to Linear Fit Clipping and have tried Winsorised clipping and this effects the quality of the end result - but still throws the error.  I'm using FITS Keyword weighting and following Kayron Mercieca's work flow.  The end result is good but if I'm missing some metadata could that be effecting the resultant image?

Anyone met this or have any ideas what may cause it.

regards
John Smith

Ah right - the answer is actually there in the warning!  I've had three coffees and can now see clearly.  My frames were captured over the period of three years and during that time I've changed my system of positioning my filters within the carousel.  My current Atik capture software simply adds the carousel position of the filter used to the file header - so therefore they wouldn't be consistent with each other.  Nothing to worry about - problem solved.
