Launching Pixinsight

Hi, The only way I can launch the latest PI 1.8.5.1353 is as a new instance.
Image icons and desktop icon don't work, as is all program one.
Wonder what will happen when I reach 256...
I am on Win10, Acer 8 cores, 8 G ram
I tried reset settings, no joy, as well a removing/reinstalling.
Have not seen this reported yet, so maybe its just me.
What should I do ?

maybe related,I lost the PI Icon on the start menu but the application launches.
If I click on new instance or other apps in the start menu PI will either lock up or not start.
I only noticed this after the latest update 20170811
With PI up and running clicking Recourse/about PI ,PI locks up

Hi,

None of these problems can be reproduced, and they have not been reported before. To diagnose and understand a problem, we need a repeatable pattern and/or more detailed information such as error messages, system logs, etc. I suggest uninstalling the application, rebooting, and installing again.

The problem was _V_  real time optimization.
I defined an exception for PI and other programs
and everything is working as it should now.

uninstall and reinstall Of PI solved the problem.
as for clicking resources/about PixInsight ,PI still hangs about 2 minutes then comes back alive.
I'm in the process of finding out what other software/hardware may be conflicting.
As far back as I can remember ,Windows doesn't play nicely with others.
